Current Volunteer Opportunities

Working With People

If you enjoy helping others, you may want to join our ranks of more than 700 volunteers providing service to seniors and people with special needs across the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Drivers Wanted – volunteer as a driver for our Volunteer Transportation or Meals on Wheels programs.

Help Us Dine Out – assistance is always appreciated with the co-ordination and presenting of the monthly Diners’ Clubs that are held at many different locations throughout the City.

What's Cooking? – if cooking is your strength, you can assist us in the preparation of meals for Meals on Wheels, Diners' Clubs, special events, or the caregiving services that are offered out of Community Care Fenelon Falls.

Special Opportunities for Special People – do you have a special touch with seniors and people with special needs? Why not volunteer for the Adult Day Service! You minimum commitment would be two hours per week.

Are You Handy With Household Projects? – perhaps you can help out with the installation of Emergency Response systems, or be a home help and maintenance volunteer.

Reaching Out – if you enjoy the company of others, why not consider volunteering with our Friendly Visiting and Reassurance Call programs.

Helping Out at the Office

Office volunteers provide support in many valuable ways: by answering the phone and assisting with clerical tasks such as photocopying, data entry, preparing mailings and information collection. We will gladly work around your schedule and preferences – even just an hour of your time on a regular basis is valuable to us!

Fundraising

Raising some much-needed financial support of our programs is vital to the work of Community Care. Our Fundraising and Special Events Committee meets every two months to plan and develop fundraising initiatives. Volunteers are also welcomed for specific events and projects, such as our annual special events or Tag Day fundraiser.
