Meals on Wheels
Nutritious and delicious meals at affordable prices are delivered right to the door through Meals on Wheels to seniors, people disabilities, and people recovering from illness or injury. Ask us about our special diet options, including diabetic, no salt, low fat, minced or puree.
Hot Meals
An entree, two sides, soup and dessert are included in the hot meals, which are available in four areas of the City of Kawartha Lakes: Fenelon Falls, Lindsay, Mariposa and Somerville (Burnt River). Benefits of the program include the nutritious meals plus social interaction with our friendly, supportive volunteers delivering the meals and client follow-up in the event of absences or no response when meals are delivered. Clients are billed for their meals at the end of each month. Meal menus are planned following Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.

Frozen Meals
Frozen meals, Community Care’s fastest growing meal plan, can also be delivered to your home offering another nutritious, convenient option. A wide variety of entrees, soups and desserts is available, all prepared by apetito (http://www.apetito.ca/). Each frozen food item can be purchased individually or in bulk, depending on your needs. Entrees can be reheated in a microwave or oven, soups can be heated in a pot on the store or a bowl in a microwave and desserts just need defrosting.
Frozen meals are offered in eight areas across City of Kawartha Lakes, including our staffed offices in Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Lindsay.
