DENTAL CLINIC OPENS
A new health program offered by Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes will put smiles on the faces of local residents who have been seeking affordable dental care. The CCCKL dental program to primarily assist local youth and low-income families is at 108 Angeline St. S., lower level, Lindsay.
In conjunction with the local Health Unit, the dental clinic is presenting the “Healthy Smiles Ontario” program. Healthy Smiles is a no-cost dental program for eligible youth age 17 and under. The clinic is also available for people who receive benefits through Ontario Works, the Ontario Disability Support Program and ODSP’s Children in Need of Treatment program. People receiving such subsidies must present proof of eligibility prior to being seen for dental care. In addition, the agency is accepting persons of low incomes and who do not carry dental insurance. CCCKL rates will be below what is charged by the current Ontario Dental Association schedules.
The dental team includes: Dr. Indervir Mann, DSS; restorative dental hygienist Nancy Johnsen; dental assisant Catherine Southby and receptionist Jennifer Gill. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 705-324-7323 ext 180 for information or an appointment.
