The Other New Year

Friendly Visiting – throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Fundraising – throughout the year, there are many special events that require a two or three-hour commitment per event.
Hospice Services – Bobcaygeon, Burnt River, Coboconk, Fenelon Falls, Kirkfield and Omemee.
Lifeline Emergency Response Installation – Coboconk and Fenelon Falls.
Meals on Wheels – Fenelon Falls and Lindsay.

Helping Out at the Office
Office volunteers provide support in many valuable ways: by answering the telephone and assisting with clerical tasks such as photocopying, data entry, preparing mailings and information collection. We will gladly work around your schedule and preferences – even just an hour of your time on a regular basis is valuable to us!
Fundraising
Raising much-needed financial support of our programs is vital to the work of Community Care. Our Fundraising and Special Events Committee meets regularly to plan and develop fundraising initiatives. Volunteers are also welcomed for specific events and projects, such as our annual initiatives or Tag Day fundraising.
Committees
In addition to our Board of Directors, there are several standing committees of the agency that operate on a regular, year-round basis. Most committees are comprised of a mix of staff and volunteer from the community, who meet on a regular basis to give consideration to matters that pertain to the agency, plan upcoming initiatives, and provide recommendations and direction that are consistent with the agency’s mission and goals.
Standing committees include:
- Fundraising & Special Events
- Human Resources
- Public Relations
For information about the various agency committees, contact Community Care at 324-7323

Special Opportunities for Special People
